Bošáca (Hungarian Bosác – until 1902 Bossác) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia belonging to the Okres Nové Mesto nad Váhom (Trenčiansky kraj). The village is situated in the shadow of the White Carpathians on the Bošáčka stream, a left tributary of the Váh River, 10 kilometres north of Nové Mesto nad Váhom and 20 kilometres west of Trenčín.

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1380 as Bosach. According to tradition, the name derives from a former wooden monastery inhabited by hermits who only walked barefoot (bosý in Slovak).

For a long time Bošáca belonged to the manor of the nearby Beckov Castle. In contrast to the neighbouring communities of Zemianske Podhradie and Trenčianske Stankvoce, Bošáca was entirely a farming village.

The village was known for fruit growing in the 18th and 19th centuries: the slivovitz distillery that still exists today also comes from there.
