Flemish woman in 18th century

Flemish woman in costume of 18th century, rococo fashion period.

Historically, Flanders and Flemish refers only to the provinces of West Flanders and East Flanders, or the former County of Flanders, which is the western part of today’s Flanders region. Flemish people today refer to themselves as the Dutch-speaking inhabitants of the Belgian region of Flanders and a part of the Dutch-speaking inhabitants of the Brussels-Capital Region.
