FIG. VII. HEAD-DRESS

A chiffonet of Italian gauze, on the right side three large diamond pins; in the front a silver heron feather, and on the left side five white ostrich feathers; the hair lightly frizzed and mixed with the chiffonet; the chignon turned lip plain, and two plaits, on each side of the neck. Diamond earrings. Gold festoon necklace. The petticoat of white lawn with a narrow flounce of the same.

The robe à la Turque, of dove coloured peeling satin, bound with a narrow white riband. Long white satin sleeves, and short sleeves of the same as the robe. Handkerchief of Italian gauze. Whith satin shoes.

FIG. VIII. HEAD-DRESS

A turban cap, the cawl of white crape, spotted with silver, the end drawn to a point, terminating with a silver tassel. The turban of green silk, looped with small pearls. One green and two white feathers placed on the left side. The hair in light curls, and the chignon turned up plain. Large green earrings. Two rows or large green beads round the neck.

A round gown of muslin, with an embroidered border; short loose sleeves, tied in the middle with two strings of green beads; the gown round the neck, and the sleeves al the elbow, trimmed with lace. Lawn handkerchief put within the gown. Green sash tied behind. Yellow shoes.

FIG. IX. HEAD-DRESS

A Scotch bonnet of rose-coloured satin, trimmed with three rows of pearls. Two white feathers on the left side. The hair in ringlets. Pearl earrings. Chemise of white lawn, trimmed round the neck and at the ends with lace. Rose-coloured sash and shoes.
