Reconstructed after reliefs of the Trajan’s Column (Completed in AD 113). With the addition of original artefacts of the same period.

Helmet (Cassis) of iron with copper umbrill, neck protector, cheek-pieces and plume (Christa). Around his neck the scarf (focal) is set. Splint Mail (Lorca segmentata) consisting of two parts. Rear connected by hinges forward by Nestel and buckles. Particular splints to protect the shoulders. Under the armor he wore a tunic with short sleeves, tucked up on both sides. The thighs were covered by short leather pants. The lower legs were uncovered. The feet encased in leather sandals. Wide, with iron plates studded girdle (cinculum) are attached to the front with four metal studded leather strips to protect the abdomen. Left to the belt hangs of the broad dagger (pugio) with an iron grip in bronze-shod leather sheath.
Over the left shoulder, the figure of the legionary shown here wearing the iron-sword hanger (balteus) the two-edged sword (gladius) with wooden handle and bronze studded leather sheath. The shield (scutum) obtained from wood with leather and reinforced by rich copper fittings; with large shield boss (umbo). Inside the shield an iron grip and a small cushion is attached.
The right hand holds the javelin (pilum). The Legionnaire wearing a coat (Signum), which is attached to the right shoulder by a clasp (fibula).
