Alfred the Great  returns the captured family of the Viking chieftain Hastings, unscathed. Historically glorify reproduction from English history from the early Middle Ages.
Alfred the Great (Old English:  Ælfrēd “elf counsel” 849-899) was from 871 King of the West Saxons, and about 886 from the Anglo-Saxons, King of Wessex. He was the youngest of the five sons of the late 858 West Saxon King Æthelwulf and his first wife Osburga.
Victory against the Vikings 878. Alfred’s reign marked the beginning of the reconquest of the Viking English kingdom by the Anglo-Saxon kings.
