WILTON HOUSE stands upon the site of the old Abbey, which, with the surrounding estates, was granted by Henry VIII., soon after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539, to William, first Earl of Pembroke. Wilton is famous for its landscaped park and magnificent interiors.
