Cortina d’Ampezzo is an Italian municipality in the province of Belluno in Veneto, located in the historical-geographical region of Ladinia.
The village lies at an altitude of 1211 m above sea level in the Valle del Boite in the Ampezzo Dolomites and is the largest populated centre of the Dolomite Ladins.
A well-known winter and summer tourist resort, as well as the scene of many internationally important mountain and winter sports events, it was the site of the 1956 Winter Olympics and the 1932, 1941 (later cancelled) and 2021 Alpine Ski World Championships. Together with Milan, the town is set to host the 2026 Winter Olympics.
