The people of Huancayo, in gorgeous rented costumes such as this, annually celebrate the fiesta of their city´s patron saint. Peruvian Indians love fiestas, and many of the traditional costumes worn on such occasions recall the Spanish conquerors costly velvets and rich embroideries of gold or silver thread.
