  • (Premet). Dress of black tulle embroidered with a design in blue, and gold; foundation of black satin, bands of skunk.
  • (Paquin). Black velvet dress, the back of the bodice is entirely made of silver lace which is brought over the shoulders and forms a yoke in front. The skirt is trapped and caught up behind with a touch of silver lace. Trimming in skunk.
  • (Dœuillet). Dress of black velvet and Chantilly over a foundation in Liberty silk.

From left to right.

  • (Premet). Dress in taffetas broché in grey trimmed with skunk; border of dress in chiffon to match; bodice trimmed with a scalloped ” biais ” of taffetas; yoke and collar in lace. Sleeves in chiffon of matching shades lined with blue chiffon. Smocking at the wrists and at the waist behind.
  • (Beer). Dress in ” tête et nêgre ” silk muslin. Small ” casaquin ” in velvet, armhole trimmed with sable. Collar and cuffs of flesh colores muslin; bodice embroidered in silver, belt of silver braid with tassels to match.
  • (Dœuillet). Dress in beige duveteen, large pockets trimmed with rouleaux of similar stuff. Band of ” putois ” (yellow skunk).
  • (Chéruit). Dress in violet corded silk. Lawn collar. Violet silk embroidery.
  • (Redfern). Dress in pliant dark brown velvet. Blond lace. Scalloped skirt lined with blue taffeta.
  • (Paquin). Dress in slate colored silk trimmed with blue velvet. Guimpe in chiffon. Waistbelt edged with fleeting of black velvet, made into a large bow behind. Skirt gathered into a broad crossway piece and cut out at the foot into four large rounded scallops. The foundation of the skirt is trimmed with several rows of flutings in black velvet.
  • (Jenny). Frock in dark blue velvet. Collar and gimp of white silk. Gold braid passing round the neck and down the back with a very novel effect.

  • (Worth) Dress in the blue serge trimmed with chenille embroidery of matching shade, the front laced in black velvet over a bright violet satin waistcoat.
  • (Worth). Dress in black velvet, front and border of the skirt in black corded silk, gold braid and tassels.
  • (Martial & Armand). Dress in mole corded silk, the bottom of the skirt and the collar are in velvet to match. The gimp is veiled in mole chiffon, likewise the lower part of the sleeves. Collar and piece beneath the arm in lace ” lamé ” with gold; at the back and on either side three roses embroidered in blue and gold; lacing in silk cord to match.

  • Dress in black corded silk trimmed with corded silk broché with large squares of black velvet ( Coudurier No. 1464, see Pl. XXV, No. 2, the same material in white corded silk broché in turquoise copied from a dress of the Empress Eugénie`s).
  • Dress in rayé Directoire; black corded silk with stripes of gold velvet (Coudurier No. 1498). Corselet and bands on the skirt of plain black corded silk. Guimpe in shaded chiffon.
  • Dress in corded silk broché with large velvet flowers (Coudurier No. 10410. Pl. XXV, No.5). cut low 1830 style, white tulle gimp; large satin bow to match at the back.

  • (Jenny) Dress in blue serge and velvet to match. Large buttons.
  • (Jeanne Paquin). Dress in brown corded silk, bodice and sleeves in broché corded silk. Brown velvet ribbon sewn on only at the top on the skirt and sleeves. Bodice laced with a narrow velvet ribbon to match. Chiffon gimp with a small tie in brown velvet.
